At Storytime this week, Kay shared Franklin in the Dark by Paulette Bourgeois. It's about a turtle named Franklin that is afraid of small dark places. So he's afraid of crawling into his shell. Throughout the story, he asks a variety of animals for advice but finds out that each has a fear of its own.
After the story portion, we made and decorated baby turtles of our own. We had a wonderful time creating the most unique turtles you have ever seen. Some of the turtles were fuzzy, while others were covered in beautiful, colorful jewels. No two turtles looked alike.
