At Storytime this week we shared two fantastic children's books with an outer space theme. The stories included The Aliens are Coming! by Colin McNaughton and Bob's Best-Ever Friend by Simon Bartram.
The Aliens Are Coming was about a group of wacky aliens traveling towards Earth looking for a fight. In the end, the children look into a mirrored page seeing that they are the reason the aliens halted their attack on Earth. In Bob's Best-Ever Friend the children were introduced to Bob, who is bored without the company of his friends who are away at a pet show on Pluto.
Linda W was our volunteer reader of the week. She provided each of the children the chance to see themselves as the hero that saved Earth, captivating each of them. Seeing the smiling faces as each child experienced being the hero was an exciting ending to Storytime.
We concluded Storytime with two more fun-filled crafts. This week we made flying saucers and an alien. Here's a look at a couple of the out-of-this world creations.
