Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series Headed for TV

Diana Gabaldon fans will be happy to know that Starz has picked up the rights to the Outlander series. Filming for the highly anticipated TV series began last October in Scotland and word on the internet is that it will be airing sometime in 2014. I don't know about you but I'm eager to finally see Jamie and Claire come to life.

Who has been cast for Outlander?

Scottish actor Sam Heughan will be playing the part of Jamie Fraser. Jamie is a young Scottish warrior who falls in love with Claire who is married.

Caitriona Balfe will play the leading lady Claire Randall. She has traveled back in time from the 1940s to the the year of Our Lord 1743.

Tobias Menzies from HBOs The Game of Thrones has been cast for two roles Claire's loving husband Frank Randall and Frank's ancestor, Jonathan "Black Jack" Randall

Here are a few shots from the set of Outlander.
