Murder By The Book is one of my favorite escapes. It's a wonderful and cozy little bookstore that specializes in mysteries. There's definitely something for every reader waiting to be found amongst the shelves. I recently realized that it is also one of the nation's oldest and largest specialty bookstores. They are well-known for the talented authors they bring to Houston for book signings each year.
If you're a fan of Sue Grafton, Kimberley Frost, Jaye Wells, Nevada Barr, Jordan Dane, Tracy Deebs, C.C. Hunter, Patricia Cornwell, Robert Crais, Elizabeth George, Michael Connelly, Patricia Briggs, Kim Harrison then you'll be happy to know that you may have the chance to meet them in-person. It's a truly wonderful experience to stand before your favorite author and tell him/her how much you enjoy reading their works.
Murder By the Book is starting 2012 off with several author signings you can view their complete January 2012 Author Signing schedule. (Click Here)

Blindness
A doctor's wife becomes the only person with the ability to see in a town where everyone is struck with a mysterious case of sudden blindness. She feigns illness in order to take care of her husband as her surrounding community breaks down into chaos and disorder. Based on a novel by Nobel Prize winner Jose Saramago.
Saw IV
Jigsaw and his apprentice Amanda are dead. Now, upon the news of Detective Kerry's murder, two seasoned FBI profilers, Agent Strahm and Agent Perez, arrive in the terrified community to assist the veteran Detective Hoffman in sifting through Jigsaw's latest grisly remains and piecing together the puzzle. However, when SWAT Commander Rigg is abducted and thrust into a game, the last officer untouched by Jigsaw has but ninety minutes to overcome a series of demented traps and save an old friend or face the deadly consequences.
She's Out of My League
An airport security guard gets involved with a girl who's very obviously of a higher caliber than himself, and schemes to make the relationship last as his friends and family watch along in disbelief. Kirk (Jay Baruchel) was languishing in a dead-end job as an airport security agent when he somehow managed to earn the affections of the successful and drop-dead gorgeous Molly (Alice Eve). Even Kirk isn't exactly sure what Molly sees in him, though he's willing to do whatever it takes to make the relationship work. With his friends, family, and ex-girlfriend all watching stunned from the sidelines, Kirk discovers that he'll have to work overtime in order to convince Molly that he's worth hanging on to.
