Do You Have Some FREE Time This Summer? Volunteer at the Library!

There are many reasons to volunteer at the library. Having an interest in the library and a passion for the written word are just a couple of reasons why many people choose to volunteer their free time. Finding the right motivation to give up your free time this summer or year round is the place to start. What motivates volunteers to share their skills at the library?

Here are a few of my favorites:
  1. to do your civic duty
  2. to learn something new
  3. to be challenged
  4. to make new friends
  5. to explore a career
  6. as therapy
  7. to earn academic credit
  8. to be part of a team
  9. to build your resume
  10. to be an agent of change

We are currently looking for volunteers to assist with:

Do you love to organize, alphabetize and put things in order?

Assistance is needed reading shelves, shelving books, etc. Stop by the library and adopt a section of the library today!

Do you enjoy telling stories? Would you like to help children with creative projects?

Storytime is a new year-round program for children. Assistants are needed each week that would be interested in reading to the children or helping with set up and activities. Stop by or call the library to sign up to help. Teen volunteers are welcome to sign up as well.
